Emergency calls in Southwest Miami-Dade went hours without a response

(WIOD) Miami-Dade police announced that one suspect, Brian Kelly Howell, 29, had been taken into custody. 

The search for two other men, Dell Peter DiGiovanni, 50 and Michael Steven DiGiovanni, 27, was continuing.

No officers were hurt in the situation, but the president of the Miami-Dade Police Benevolent Association believes the shootout proves the department is no longer properly staffed to handle a catastrophic situation.
