Everyone is getting a full refund for the cruise and their transportation expenses
(Mobile, AL) -- The crippled Carnival cruise ship Triumph is docked in Mobile, Alabama. The ship lost power over the weekend and has been towed back to port. There were more than four thousand people on board, and horrible sanitary conditions have been reported.
The head of Carnival Cruise Lines is apologizing for the deplorable conditions aboard the vessel. Carnival president and CEO Gerry Cahill said, in this case, it's obvious the company failed to deliver on its promise to provide guests with a great vacation experience.
The cruise line has booked more than 15-hundred hotel rooms and chartered flights back to Houston for passengers on board the Triumph once they reach shore.
Carnival Cruise Lines is beefing up its compensation for the passengers. Cahill says the company will pay each passenger on the Carnival Triumph another 500-dollars because of what he calls "very challenging circumstances."
